Oxford’s Shopfronts and Signage Technical Advice Note was published in July 2021 to explain Policy DH6 of the Oxford Local Plan 2036. It covers planning permission, advertisement consent and listed building consent in one place.
The historic core sits inside the Central Conservation Area and holds many listed buildings, and the note says corporate branding has to adapt to that setting rather than the other way round.
Shutters and security
Shutters and grilles are among the works that need planning permission because they change how the shopfront looks.
